Pride and Prejudice (1995)
Regency-style dresses circa 1790s through 1810s. In period films, these fashions are most often seen in movies adapted from Jane Austen's works such as Pride and Prejudice or Sense and Sensibility. The distinctive feature about these dresses is their high waistline, commonly referred to as the "empire waist."

While there are no American Girls from this time period, the closest resemblance to the fashion would be Josephina (1824). Felicity Merriman (1774) would wear these styles as an adult.
